Then try logging in as each of the test users and verify that USB devices don't work for members of the blocked group, and that they do work for non-members. Put at least two test users in that OU: one that is a member of the blocked Security Group, and one that is not in that group. Test your GPO by linking it to a test OU. But you must be sure that your Security filtering is setup correctly before you link the GPO to the inclusive OU. The key here is to lock down the application of the GPO using Security Filtering. You will eventually want to link the GPO to an OU containing all of the users that you want to block USB access, as well as users that you don't want blocked. So there is no need to worry about the GPO applying to someone else as long as the Security Filtering is correctly setup. This will launch Group Policy Management Editor where you can define the settings to block USB devices for Windows computers. ![]() Provide a name to the GPO such as Block USB Devices and click OK. Ok, by using Security FIltering you can assign it to any OU essentially and it will only apply to the Groups/Users in the Security Filtering regardless of what OU it is linked to, but you will need to link the GPO somewhere in order for it to apply.
